 About

The Great Lakes Trade Adjustment Assistance Center (GLTAAC) helps small manufacturers that have been negatively impacted by imports improve their competitiveness and long-term viability.

GLTAAC runs the Trade Adjustment Assistance for Firms Program in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. Since its founding 25 years ago, GLTAAC has successfully assisted over 300 companies in the region.

  • Great ROI - matching funds up to $75,000 to implement the precise business improvement projects your company needs.
  • High firm survival rate - 93% of GLTAAC's clients over the past five years are still in business.
  • Improved bottom-line performance - 71% of current GLTAAC client companies turned a profit in 2006.
  • Company growth - 56% of established GLTAAC clients added employees in 2006.
  • Enduring value - one-year after completion, 98% of companies still consider their TAA projects to have been a success.

The program has provided trade-injured manufacturers professional expertise and financial support needed to develop and implement recovery plans cutomized to meet each company's individual needs. Support could include market research, sales plan development, lean manufacturing, quality certification, IT systems, and many other projects crucial to business success.

"TAA has worked well for us. We would have never done this project without GLTAAC's help - and only now do we understand how badly it was needed!"
-Company President
