A Michigan Manufacturer of Sensors

Situation: $1 - $5 million company; niche manufacturer for electronics industry; started work with GLTAAC in late 2001.

Approach: Needed to set long-term strategic direction, and become more efficient and cost-competitive.

Actions: Implemented lean manufacturing projects to reduce costs and improve competitiveness, in addition to strategic planning, market research and sales projects to increase revenues.

Results: Firm is profitable and has moved up-market developing new products that incorporate company's existing products.

An Indiana Machining and Welding Company

Situation: $10 - $15 million company; primary business is machining parts for aircraft engines; started work with GLTAAC in late 2003.

Approach: Maintain aircraft business while aggressively growing the firm's high-end, high-margin bike business.

Actions: Has completed Market Plan development and website projects.

Results: Both projects successful per early indicators. Sales and net income up.

An Ohio Injection Molder

Situation: $15 - $20 million company; primary business is injection molding for numerous industries; started work with GLTAAC in late 2005.

Approach: Generate more business through marketing initiative, with improvements to its cost accounting, bidding and manufacturing.

Actions: Market Research / Strategic planning project underway.

Results: Project near completion. As part of project, company is investigating feasibility of adding product line extension, business plan in progress.

An Ohio Precision Products Producer

Situation: $30 - $40 million company; producing precision machined parts for the HVAC equipment Industry; started work with GLTAAC in late 2003.

Approach: Developed lean process techniques, implementing strategic marketing plan, and improving manufacturing efficiencies.

Actions: Completed marketing and business plan, and is progressing on lean manufacturing project.

Results: Company has experienced increase in sales, creating new contacts in its old markets while expanding into new markets.
